Security forces mobilized after 42 deaths in Karachi

KARACHI: Security forces have finally resorted to take action after the on-going violence in the metropolis claimed 42 lives in three days, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Police, Rangers, Crime Investigation Department (CID) and other law enforcement agencies are taking action against the criminal elements and suspects allegedly involved in disturbing the peace in the city.

Security forces kicked off targeted search operation in various areas and arrested dozens of suspects. Police, acting on a tip off, raided Shanti Nagar area and apprehended six suspects while the Rangers apprehended nine accused from Bilal Colony when the search operation was initiated in Korangi area. Arms were also recovered from their possession.

Raids were also carried out in Korangi industrial area, Shareefabad, Sachal Goth, Safora Chowrangi and areas adjoining the Super Highway. During such raids, the CID claimed to have arrested ten accused belonging to banned outfits. The CID forces used armored vehicles while SP CID Chaudhry Aslam will address from a press conference where he is likely to reveal the arrests made during the raids.

Targeted search operation was also carried out in Patel Para, Liaquatabad and A-area and held three suspected persons.

During the operation, the security personnel used motorcycles along with the Rangers mobiles that allowed them to act in less time.
