Give PPP a political burial in polls, Shahbaz to people

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Friday said that the nation would have to give the incumbent government a political burial in the upcoming elections, Geo News reported.

“I would rid the country of the thieves and draw all the national wealth out of their bellies if I came to power”, said he while addressing the internship letters distribution ceremony held here at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University

Earlier, Punjab CM distributed internship letters among 4,685 unemployed educated youth selected from all the four districts of Rawalpindi division under the Punjab Youth Internship Programme.

Around 3,141 male and female students from Rawalpindi, 555 from Attock, 384 from Jhelum and 605 from Chakwal received their three-month internship letters from the Chief Minister.

, Shahbaz Sharif said the internees would get Rs. 10,000 stipend per month through automated cards to ensure transparency in the project.

Under the Punjab Youth Internship Programme, he said 50,000 graduate and postgraduate students fulfilling the criteria would be selected from across the province for professional training at provincial departments, equipping them with skills required for job in public and private sector.

The CM expressed the resolve to expand the internship programme for benefit of educated youth and initiate more projects for welfare of students after coming into power through general elections scheduled to be held next year.

He also mustered students' support for his party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in the general polls, claiming that the Punjab government executed a number of corruption-free development projects in a successful manner.

After the Youm-e-Ashur (10th of Muharram), he said 10,000 to 15,000 laptop computers would be distributed among the students of Rawalpindi division on merit.

A smartly turned out contingent of Punjab Police presented guard of honour to the recipients of internship letters in recognition of their excellence they achieved in education sector.

A number of PML-N Parliamentarians and local leaders including Hanif Abbasi, Pervez Rashid, Zafar Ali Shah, Raja Hanif Advocate, Najma Hameed, Seema Geelani, Ziaullah Shah, Shakeel Awan and Malik Abrar were also present on the occasion.
