Nawaz urges action against 'militant wings' of political parties

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif urged the government to abolish the 'militant wings' of the allied parties in order to bring peace to Karachi, Geo News reported Monday.

Nawas Sharif was talking to the media before his meeting with the veteran columnist and poet Ata ul Haq Qasmi here today.

He criticized the government’s recent steps of banning motorcycles and pillion riding and said that such steps cannot ensure peace in the city. He said that law and order cannot be maintained by such immature acts.

Therefore, Nawaz urged the government to first get rid of the 'militant wings' of the political parties to restore peace in Karachi.

PML-N leader also condemned the attack on Jamat-e-Islami rally lead by their leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed in Mohmand Agency today, where three persons were injured in the suicide attack. He said that such attacks will affect the election process.

He also urged the Muslim Ummah to raise its voice against Israel’s attacks on Gaza that has killed hundreds of innocent Muslims so far.
