Kaira reiterates to hold general elections on time

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the upcoming general elections would be held on time.

Talking to media after visiting PIMS Hospital Islamabad, Kaira said that in the past elections were held on time even after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, adding that there is no such reason including law and order situation that the upcoming elections would be delayed.

The information minister said that all the steps taken by Rehman Malik for security purpose are supported by the government. He said that people had to suffer due to some decisions but if the steps taken by the interior minister would have saved even a single life then what could be more beneficial than that.

Kaira said President Asif Ali Zardari had already made it clear that elections would take place on time.
