Sunni Ittehad Council, PML-Q in seat adjustment deal for polls

FAISALABAD: Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has struck a seat adjustment deal with the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) (PML-Q) for the upcoming general elections, Geo News reported.

“We have reached an understanding with regard to seat adjustment for the polls” SIC chief, Sahibzada Fazal Karim, said talking to a news conference.

He was flanked by PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat and Pervaiz Elahi.

Earlier both the Chaudhry brothers called on Karim at his residence here to hash out a political alliance for the polls to come.

Dropping clues on extending alliances with other political parties as well, Karim said SIC’s doors were open for everyone.

Speaking on the occasion Chaudhry Shujaat endorsed Karim’s approach.

“No party alone can see this country through, all the political as well as religious parties will have to join their hands together to row the boat out of troubled waters”, said Shujaat.

He said PML-Q was ready work with the religious parties in the broader interest of the country.
