Federal govt has given top priority to Balochistan projects: Raja
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the federal government has prioritised the ongoing development projects initiated in Balochistan to speed up the pace of socio-economic development and improve the standard of living of the people. The Ministry of Finance has been specially directed to facilitate releases of all necessary funds in this regard, he added. Prime Minister expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation from Balochistan led by Federal Minister Jam Yousuf at the PM’s House on Thursday. Other members of the delegation were Mir Naseer Mengal, Sardar Masood Zoni and Sardar Othaman Thoar Khail. The prime minister said that directions have already been given for the expeditious completion of the Kachi Canal project within this year. Similarly direction have also been given for fast tacking the Dadu-Khuzdar Transmission line, completion of Kalat-Ratodero, Khori-Qubi Saeed Khan section (Khuzdar-Ratodero road) and Gwadar-Ratodero road to kick off development activities Balochistan, he added.
Prime Minister said that health related the federal government in the Federal PSDP also targets projects in order to provide better medical facilities to the people living in far-flung areas of the province.
Jam Muhammad Yousuf praised the prime minister for his personal focus on Balochistan and expressed the view that the measures taken by the federal government would go a long way in laying foundation for sustainable development of Balochistan. staff report
