Militant wing of political party involved in target killing: Rangers
KARACHI: With violence once again tightening its grip, the spokesman for Rangers has claimed that the militant wing of a political party is involved in target killing in the city.
According to the spokesman, a high-level meeting of Rangers and police was held on Tuesday in which sectarian killings in Karachi were discussed.
The spokesman said the purpose of sectarian killings was to create Shia, Sunni conflict during the month of Muharram. He added that Rangers and police were close to the perpetrators’ of these killings and they would be arrested soon.
Earlier, Karachi police chief, Shahid Hayat during a news conference said that the recent killings in the city were aimed at creating sectarian strife. “Yesterday (Monday) members of the Shia community were killed and today (Tuesday) members of the Sunni community were killed.”
On Tuesday, at least ten people were killed in Karachi, five who were gunned down within a span of 15 minutes in the Defence and Koarangi areas.
