Pak-US accords on NATO supply be made public: PML-Q

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Shujaat Hussain has said that the nation wants to know about all the accords signed with the US during the prime minister’s recent visit and the previous government’s tenure regarding NATO containers’ passage through Pakistan. In a statement issued on Monday Shujaat said that about 0.75 million NATO containers have to go out of Afghanistan, of which 70 percent will be go through Pakistan, which means that one container will pass the Pakistani border every seven minutes. He said about $35 billion worth of goods would be carried through these containers. “The nation should be told how much Pakistan would benefit or suffer in this process,” the elderly politician said. Shujaat said that the nation should be given details of the agreements signed with and assurances given to the US government regarding NATO containers’ passage, what procedure has been evolved and what terms have been agreed to. “Only after knowing all these details, any line of action can be worked out,” the PML-Q chief said. staff report
