Karachi divided into six districts

KARACHI: Sindh government on Tuesday carved out Korangi district, increasing the number of districts in the city to six. The newly made Korangi district is comprised of Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi and Model Colony areas. Previously, Korangi area had been included in district East. According to a notification issued by Sindh government, the new district has been carved out after revising boundaries of the other five districts. Following the new notification, administratively Karachi will now be divided into six districts. Other five districts are South, East, West, Central and Malir. Sindh opposition parties including MQM have already rejected the move while the PML-N has also said that it will challenge the decision in the court of law. agencies
