KP govt asks NHA to open Lowari Tunnel

ISLAMABAD: A meeting with regard to the traffic on Lowari Tunnel, the only road link between Chitral and the rest of the country, was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Secretary Muhammad Shahzad Arbab.
It was decided in the meeting to request the National Highways Authority (NHA) to open the tunnel for three days after a fortnight to alleviate the hardships being faced by the public due to the closure of the tunnel.
Meanwhile, the KP chief secretary chaired another meeting on the Special Assistance Programme for widows and disabled persons. It was decided in the meeting to establish a private foundation within two weeks for providing assistance to the disabled, widows and destitute.
