Youth urged to follow Iqbal’s message
ISLAMABAD: The youth must follow Shair-e-Mashriq Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s philosophy of unity and make Pakistan an Islamic, democratic and welfare state. This was said by prominent worker of the Pakistan Movement, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) Vice President Colonel (r) Raja Sultan Zahoor Akhtar Kayani. He urged students to follow Allama Iqbal and Pakistan Movement veterans so that Pakistan could be transformed into an Islamic state. He said after years of epoch-making ideological struggle, Pakistan was achieved for the Muslims of this region. Raja said the creation of Pakistan was based on the Two-Nation Theory. He said Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great leader who united the people to realise the dream of Allama Iqbal. Being a great and intrepid person, and through his poetical message, Iqbal told the Muslims of the subcontinent their true potential, Raja added. He said Allama Iqbal loved children and often termed them pearls and diamonds. He urged the new generation to follow in the ideological footsteps of Iqbal and put the country on the path to prosperity. Raja said Iqbal was always proud of the Muslim youth, particularly the students who remained on the forefront in the hour of need. He hoped that education could inspire the Pakistani youth to rise above provincial, linguistic and sectarian problems. app
