MQM doesn’t want LB polls under unconstitutional system
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s leader Faisal Sabzwari Monday said that his party didn’t want the local bodies elections to be held under the existing unconstitutional system and added that there should not be any law in contravention of the constitution, Geo News reported.
Faisal Sabzwari said that the election schedule was issued in haste. He said his party has already filed a petition in the Supreme Court praying the apex to declare the Sindh Local Bodies Act-2013 void or order for amendment of some of its articles and a decision was anxiously awaited. Besides, every candidate should be given sufficient time for campaign in the elections, he said.
