Imran Khan asks KP govt to part ways with Sherpao’s party
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to end alliance with Aftab Sherpao’s Qaumi Watan Party over its reluctance to take action against its ministers involved in corruption despite repeated warnings by the provincial government, Geo News reported Wednesday.
Khan applauded provincial ministers belonging to the Jamaat-e-Islami, PTI’s partner in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for their ‘exemplary role’ in curbing corruption.
Imran Khan said that QWP failed in taking any action against its ministers despite two warnings were issued.
Earlier in the day, the government removed three ministers Yousuf Ayub of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Bakht Bedar and Abrar Hussain of Qaumi Watan Party.
Imran Khan’s party formed coalition government in KP, Pakistan’s frontline province in its war on terror, after May 11 elections.
The provincial government came under strong criticism as violence continued to haunt Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the election.
