LB polls: ECP Secy says candidates to re-submit nomination forms
ISLAMABAD: Election Commission Secretary Ishtiak Ahmed Khan has said that the electoral body has suggested January 18 and 30 for local bodies elections dates for Punjab and Sindh respectively.
He said that the ECP had proposed that LB polls should be held in February next year in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Cantonment Boards. Earlier, provincial governments had proposed dates for the polls to the Supreme Court on their own which created uncertainty.
The secretary said nomination papers submitted by some candidates would be cancelled. He, however, added that those who had also submitted fee would not have to pay again.
