ECP cancels old LB polls schedule for Sindh, Punjab
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has cancelled the previous local bodies elections schedule for Sindh and Punjab after the Supreme Court approved the new proposed schedule on Wednesday, Geo News reported.
According to Secretary ECP Ishtiaque Ahmed, the old schedule was cancelled after getting the extension in the dates for holding local bodies elections in Sindh and Punjab provinces.
The new schedule for the two provinces will now be issued only after receiving the written orders of the apex court, and that the process will progress in the light of the court’s order, the secretary added.
