Pakistan Bible Society celebrates 150 years of Faithful Services

LAHORE: The Pakistan Bible Society on Saturday held a concluding ceremony of 150 years celebration of Faithful Services.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was chief guest of ceremony, arranged at a hotel.

Pakistan Bible Society President Rt Rev Dr Alexander John Malik, who presided over the ceremony, talked about people who had made a difference in the past and present as well. The governor appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Bible Society and congratulated its entire team over the celebrations. Pakistan Bible Society General Secretary Anthony Aijaz Lamuel, during his address, shared the annual report of the society. Bishop of Lahore Rt Rev Irfan Jamil unveiled the “largest” Urdu handwritten Bible on the occasion.

Children from Cathedral School also performed while children from the Scripture Union of Pakistan also presented a colourful performance. International guests, including those from Japan Bible Society, Nepal Bible Society, Sri Lanka Bible Society, Indonesia Bible Society, Philippine Bible Society, British and Foreign Bible Society UK and Ministry Resources Facilitator United Bible Society, honoured the work of Pakistan Bible Society. Around 500 people from different denominations had joined the celebration of 150 years of Pakistan Bible Society and special prayers were offered for Pakistan and Ministry of the Pakistan Bible Society.
