CM Sindh urges Ulema to help maintain harmony

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has urged the Ulema of different schools of thought to maintain an environment of inter-faith harmony, brotherhood, unity and tolerance.

He was talking to them over telephone, said a statement issued on Sunday.

The chief minister talked to prominent Ulema including Allama Talib Johri, Maulana Umer Sadiq, Maulana
Hasan Zafar Naqvi, Haji Hanif Tayyab, Owais Noorani and Shahid Ghauri.

He said no untoward incident occurred during the first ten days of Muharram-ul-Haram due to steps taken by the Sindh government with the coordination of Ulema and masses.

The provincial government has taken all precautionary measures to maintain law and order and Ulema should also play their role to maintain harmony,
he added.

Ulema expressed gratitude to the Sindh CM for making foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Ashura-e-Muharram, the statement added. app
