Arms scandal: NAB arrests former IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested former inspector general police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Malik Navid, over irregularities in purchase of weapons for police department, Geo News reported.

The NAB officials arrested Malik Navid when he arrived in Peshawar from Islamabad to attend a meeting on Wednesday.

The former IG will be presented in the court on Thursday.

Malik Navid served as IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during 2008 to 2010. Around Rs7 billion were issued for the purchase of weapons for police department during his time in office.
