Decision to file case against NAB chief insult to parliament: Shah
ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah said that appointment of Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry was as per the constitution and that the decision to file case against him is an insult to the parliament, Geo News reported.
In a statement, Khursheed Shah said Qamar Zaman Chaudhry was not involved in corruption and that he was being targeted for merely removing an officer.
Defending NAB chief appointment, Shah said contempt of court case against him was one-and-a-half year old, adding that Chaudhry had already tendered an apology to the Supreme Court.
The opposition leader said NAB chief could not be removed in an unconstitutional way as the constitution provides rules for appointing and removing the bureau’s head.
