Waheed Murad’s death anniversary today

ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani film industry hero, producer, Waheed Murad will be remembered today (Saturday) on his death anniversary.

Waheed Murad was born on October 2, 1938 in Sialkot.

He got early education from Karachi Grammar School, did graduation from S.M. Arts College and then masters in English literature from University of Karachi.

Waheed Murad started his film career in 1961 as producer of the film Insaan Badalta Hai.

As an actor he started his film career from SM Yousaf’s film Aulad. Heera Aur Pathar was his first movie as a leading actor and considered to be his major breakthrough.

Waheed Murad was the youngest film producer in the industry at that time.

Waheed Murad was a successful producer in Pakistan film industry.

During 1960s and early 1970s, he produced films like Insaan Badalta Hai (1961), Armaan (1966), Ehsaan (1967), Naseeb Apna (1970) and Mastana Mahi (Punjabi film of 1971).

He died on November 23, 1983 and his death created such a vacuum in the Pakistani film industry that is not still filled. app
