Want implementation of Shariah according to constitution: Fazl

KARAK: Claiming that all the religious schools of thought including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) aim to bring about Shariah in Pakistan according to the constitution, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman Sunday said Khyber Pkahtunkhwa was on fire and all the stakeholders had to fight it down jointly, Geo News reported.

“Times are critical for Khyber Pkahtunkhwa for it is the most vulnerable province militancy wise”, said he addressing a public rally here.

For peace in the country, he said, it was JUI-F, which proposed the dialogue was the way to go.

“We advocated that talks were indispensable for peace. The subsequent dialogue process, though short-lived, very well proved our policies far-reaching and the leadership farsighted”, said he.

Fazl also claimed that JUI-F wanted to bring about Shariah in Pakistan according to Constitution of Pakistan.

“It is said that Taliban do not accept the constitution and the law of the land and they want to enforce Shariah at gunpoint, but I want to make it clear that it is absolutely not our ideology”, said JUI-F chief.

Fazl stressed that JUI-F was not in the favour of shedding blood for this peaceful cause, adding the constitution would continue to be trampled like this unless Islam governed the whole system.

He vouched for all the religious-schools-of-thought's being unanimous on demanding effectuation of Shariah law in the country while staying within the boundaries of Constitution.
