President gives Rs 50m to CM for Awaran affectees

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday expressed solidarity with the people of Balochistan and handed over a cheque of Rs 50 million as a contribution to the relief efforts for quake-affected people of the Awaran district.

The president assured all-out support of the federal government for the rehabilitation of the affectees. He handed over the cheque to Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch who called on him at the Presidency. The overall situation in the province, particularly the efforts being made for the rehabilitation of the Awaran quake affectees, were discussed during the meeting.

The CM apprised the president of the steps being taken by the provincial government for the relief of quake affectees. The president reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards the socio-economic development of Balochistan and redressal of the grievances of the people of the province. “The government accords priority to remove the sense of deprivation of the people of Balochistan and will leave no stone unturned in this regard,” he said. The president advised the provincial government to expedite its efforts for the rehabilitation of the quake affectees. app
