Three police teams to investigate Ancholi blasts
KARACHI: As many as three police teams have been constituted to investigate the bomb blasts that occurred in Ancholi on the night between Friday and Saturday.
CID SP Chaudhry Aslam, SP Farooq Awan and SSP Omar Farooqui would head these three-member teams. The three teams would work under the supervision of DIG West Javed Odhoki.
As per SSP Investigation East Omar Farooqui, both the motorcycles used in the blasts have been traced out. The preliminary report suggests that the motorcycles were not stolen and explosive material ranging between four to five kilogrammes was used.
More information was being collected about the owners of the bikes, following which the law enforcers would arrest suspects.
The case of these two blasts, which took place in Ancholi has been registered on the report of SHO Samanabad Zaman Bhatti.
As per police, six persons have been killed and about 50 injured in the two explosions.
CM seeks detailed report: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has sought a detailed report regarding the twin blasts.
A CM House statement here on Saturday said that he vehemently condemned the blasts and directed the Additional Inspector General Police Karachi for immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
Qaim directed Sindh police and Rangers to ensure protection of lives and property of the people.
He instructed the administration of the hospitals to provide the possible treatment to those who sustained injuries in the blasts. The CM offered condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of the injured.
He said that the dastardly acts couldn’t affect Karachi operation, which would continue till its logical conclusion.
IGP orders strict security: In view of the persisting law and order situation, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch has directed police officials to ensure strict security to avert any criminal activity in Sindh.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Baloch said that advanced intelligence collection was necessary around mosques, imambargas, seminaries, shrines, key installations, and other private and government buildings in order to ensure timely action against criminals.
IG Sindh directed officials to speed up raids against criminal elements, conduct snap checking and ensure effective surveillance in order to arrest criminals. He also ordered to arrest absconders and criminals wanted in illegal activities. agencies
