KP govt. hands over protest memo against drone attacks to US consulate
PESHAWAR: The cabinet members of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KP) handed over a protest memorandum against the drone attacks to the US consulate on Monday here, Geo News reported.
Sources said that provincial ministers Sirajul Haque, Shah Farman, Ali Amin, Atif Khan and other members of the cabinet were included among those who handed over the memo to the US consulate.
Talking to the media on this occasion, senior KP minister Sirajul Haque said that we would not allow any more war on our land. He underlined the need for talks between the federal government and the Taliban and urged upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif to take the lead in initiating the much needed talks.
The senior minister said innocent civilians were being killed in the drone attacks and the federal government remained a spectator.
Sirajul Haque said the drone attack in Hangu was tantamount to an attack on Peshawar and Islamabad.
