Randhawa was killed for his association with Wali Babar case: AG Sindh

KARACHI: Advocate General Sindh told the Supreme Court on Wednesday that lawyer Naimat Ali Randhawa was killed due to his association with the Wali Khan Babar murder case, Geo News reported.

The SC was hearing Karachi law and order implementation case today at Karachi Registry where Advocate General Sindh presented the police report regarding the targeted operations in Karachi.

During today’s hearing, AG Sindh told the bench that government lawyers are scared due to the lawyers’ killing, and Naimat Ali Randhawa was murdered due to his links with Wali Khan Babar case.

He said that Randhawa murder case is of highly sensitive nature and the prosecutors are afraid, therefore, it was decided to move the case outside the province during a meeting presided by Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif.

AG Sindh further told that arms and weapons is the most serious issue and he has also requested the Sindh High Court to set up five special courts to hear arms cases.

He further told the court that unidentified armed men attacked the house of the public prosecutor in Wali Khan Babar murder case, Advocate Abdul Maroof in Defence area on Thursday.

It may be mentioned that three assailants were injured in retaliatory fire by Abdul Maroof, however, their aides took them away.

Advocate Abdul Maroof said he had been receiving threats and CID police had also warned him of the danger.
