Justice Nasirul Mulk made acting CEC
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has appointed Justice Nasirul Mulk as Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Geo News reported on Friday.
Justice Nasirul Mulk will take oath as acting CEC on tomorrow (Saturday) at 11:00AM.
Earlier, Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani resigned from his position on Friday.
The ECP, following the resign of acting CEC Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, had sent a summary to the Supreme Court to appoint new acting chief election commissioner.
According to the sources, Justice Tassaduq relinquished his charge of Acting CEC after approving to assume the role of new Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 12.
