Kayani thanks aides for ‘all-out’ supportRAWALPINDI: The 166th Corps Commanders’ Conference was held at General Headquarters on Thursday with outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in the chair. General Kayani thanked all corps commanders and principal staff officers for extending their wholehearted support to him during his tenure as COAS. The outgoing COAS congratulated Chairman Joint Chief of the Staff Committee-designate General Rashad Mahmood and COAS-designate General Raheel Sharif for their promotion to the rank of general and selection for the coveted offices. Gen Kayani also commended Lieutenant General Haroon Aslam for his services for the Pakistan Army. Separately, General Kayani paid a farewell call on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Presidency. The president lauded the services of General Kayani for the country’s defence. He also expressed his best wishes for the future life of the outgoing COAS. app
