Justice Nasirul Mulk appointed acting CECISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday appointed Justice Nasirul Mulk as the new acting chief election commissioner (CEC) after the resignation of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani. Justice Nasirul Mulk will take oath as the acting CEC at 11 am today (Saturday). The oath will be administrated by the chief justice. Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani resigned from his position on Friday. Following the resignation of Justice Jillani, the ECP sent a summary to the chief justice to appoint the new acting CEC. Justice Jillani relinquished the charge of acting CEC after agreeing to assume the role of new chief justice of Pakistan on December 12. app
