Pak Army hands over relief supplies to Sri Lankan Army

RAWALPINDI: A special consignment of relief medical supplies and emergency goods donated by Pakistan for Koslandawatta – Meeriyabedda landslide victims, was handed over to the Sri Lanka Army on Tuesday at Katunayaka Bandaranayake International
Airport.

According to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Raheel Sharif had spoken to Sri Lankan Army Chief, Lt Gen Daya Ratnayake on phone and had made this offer.

It may be recalled here that 100 people had lost their lives in devastating mudslide in Budhala last week.

A team of 18 officers from the Pakistan Army, led by the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Major General (R) Qasim Qureshi, handed over relief stocks containing, 10 generators, shelters, 150 tents, 0.7 Tones of medicine, to the Sri Lanka Army Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General E.M.M Ambanpola who was present at the airport on behalf of the Commander of the Army.

The Pakistan team with technicians and other tradesmen would assist the Sri Lanka Army by providing technical know-how for their installation, etc.
