Nawaz Sharif reaches Khatmandu for SAARC conference
KHATMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Shareef has reached Khatmandu to attend the SAARC conference where he was received by the Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal.
The PM’s along with his delegation including Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatmi, reached Khatmandu on a special flight.
Inauguration of the SAARC conference will be held on 26th November where heads of 8 countries will address the ceremony.
Nawaz Shareef is scheduled to meet heads of various countries including Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
On his arrival in Nepal he said that it’s been 30 years since SAARC came into being but no notable development where as European Union and other regional organizations have made great progress.
He also said that Pakistan was willing to talk to India but India will have to take the initiative. India had earlier cancelled talks between foreign ministers.
The Prime Minister will return home on the night of November 27.
