Govt questions basis of Imran’s sit-ins

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Monday said that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had got proofs of electoral rigging now, then on what basis had he been raising hue and cry so far. “If he had no proofs in the past, on what grounds he was holding sit-ins and long marches and demanding resignation from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif?” he asked. Senator Rashid said that from Imran Khan’s statement, it had become very clear that instead of taking the issue of rigging seriously, he wanted to use it for petty political gains. “Imran Khan’s entire life had passed taking emotional and hollow decisions and he had admitted this fact in his book. Imran has admitted that he makes decisions not through wisdom but through emotions,” he added. The information minister said that politics needed tolerance and patience but Imran lacked both the traits. “In politics, masses make the decision and politicians have to accept that patiently, but as per Imran Khan’s own words he is a fast bowler who is very impatient. By his impatience Imran was not only damaging himself but ruining the entire nation,” he added. Now that he has the proofs of rigging, he should give up meaningless sit-ins and public rallies and knock the doors of the courts so the nation could know real facts,” Pervaiz Rashid said.
