Pakistan to host 19th SAARC Summit in Islamabad

KATHMANDU - Pakistan will host the 19th summit of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in Islamabad.
This was announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his address to the 18th SAARC summit being held in the Nepal’s capital. “Pakistan was pleased to host the next SAARC Summit in Islamabad,” he said. Pakistan attaches high importance to the SAARC and was committed to its process. It supports the broad objectives of the charter, which envisages promoting the welfare of the people of South Asia.
Pakistan has played a proactive role to make the SAARC a model of regional cooperation, based on the principles of sovereign equality.
