No amendment in education curriculum: Atif

PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Atif Khan on Friday dispelled the impression of any amendment in the education curriculum in the province.

To a question of Maulana Mufti Fazal Ghafoor here during the question-hour of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, he said that the curriculum was made in 2006 and new textbooks are coming on the basis of the same. He said that they had made no amendment in the curriculum.

However, he said that keeping in view the mental position of the children it could be amended with the consultation of the members of the house. The minister said that on the arrival of such occasion, the opposition would be ultimately consulted. However, amendment is made so far.

Earlier, the house referred the question of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Abdul Karim Khan regarding the recruitment of Data Collection and Monitoring Assistants (DCMAs) for IMU project to the concerned committee. To another question of Abdul Karim Khan, the minister said that every legislator wants the construction of schools in their constituency.

He said despite limited resources they were establishing schools. For this purpose, he said that the department searches proper space and in case of unavailability of land the schools would be transferred in the constituency of any other legislator.

To the question of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Mehmood Ahmad Khan Bhatni, regarding the recruitment of teachers in district Tank, the minister said that the department had already advertised 5515 vacant posts and more would be advertised soon.
