Pakistan, Switzerland reaffirm resolve to strengthen ties

BERNE – Pakistan and Switzerland on Saturday reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen the existing relationship in diverse areas especially, political, economic, education, culture and development.
It was decided in 8th round of Pakistan-Switzerland bilateral consultations held in Berne. The Pakistan side was led by Additional Secretary (Europe) Nadeem Riyaz. The Swiss delegation was headed by Ambassador Johannes Matyassy, Assistant State Secretary for Asia Pacific of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, said a press release issued here.
The consultations provided an opportunity to have a frank exchange of views on bilateral, regional and global issues. It was also agreed that the two sides would work towards exchange of parliamentary delegations, cooperation between chambers of commerce and work in areas of renewable energy.
Linkages between educational institutions would also be explored. The talks were held in a cordial atmosphere. It was agreed that the next round of political consultations would be held in Islamabad in 2015.
