Fatemi terms Indian brutality in Kashmir as crime against humanity
Special Assistant to PM briefed UN Security Council on Indian involvement in terrorist activities

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, briefed the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council on Indian involvement in rebellious and terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Tariq Fatemi, on Friday, briefed the ambassadors of the China, France, Russian Federation, UK and USA on the violation of human rights in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoK), ceasefire violations by India at Line of Control (LoC) and the Indian involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Fatemi condemned the the killing of more than 115 innocent people by Indian brutalities in IoK. Pellet guns used by the Indian occupation forces have injured more than 1000 people, while hundreds of people have become partially or permanently blind. He considered this violation of human rights as crimes against humanity.
He called upon the members of the UN Security Council to fulfill their commitment to the people of Kashmir, through the holding of a free, fair and impartial poll with the UN’s support. He also said that the people of IoK were being brutalized for demanding their fundamental rights, including the right to self-determination.
He stated that unprovoked firing and ceasefire violations by Indian forces have resulted in the loss of many innocent lives. He referred to the Indian attempts to escalate tensions, as an effort to divert international attention from grim situation in the IoK.
While highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism, including terrorism sponsored by India.
