CM orders withdrawal of FIRs against protestors of Numiash, Malir 15

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he has launched operation in the city across the board. This is not against any sect or group but “it is for the protection of each and every individual living in this city”.

This he said while holding a meeting with Shia ulema led by Allama Abbas Kumeli here at the CM House this evening. The delegation comprises Allama Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Allama Ali Hassan Naqvi, Allama Nazir Naqvi, Allama Nasir Sheerazi and Allama Shabbar Raza Zaidi.

The other participants of the meeting include provincial minister Syed Nasir Shah, Dr Qayoom Soomro. Mola Bux Chandio, Special Assistant Nadir Khowja, IG Sindh AD Khowja, Additional IG Karachi Mushtaq Maher and Commissioner Karachi.

The chief minister thanked the Shia Ulemas who met him on a short notice. “Just I wanted to take you into confidence on the targeted operation launched across the board in the city,” he said and added the operation was not against any sect or group but “it is against those who want to destroy peace and sectarian harmony in this city and it is against those who want to get brothers fight with brothers and even against those whom I don’t consider to be Muslims because they believe in bloodshed and killing innocent people,” he clarified.

He hoped that the Shia ulema would support him. The ulema took up the issue of the arrest of Faisal Raza Abdi and said his arrest has been made in connection with clean up operation.

On this, the chief minister said that it was wrong. Mr Abdi has been arrested for possessing an unlicensed gun. Mr Abdi had told the police that his brother had the license of the gun but his brother failed to produce the same.

“Just you produce the license we would release him,” he assured them.

The chief minister on the request of ulema, directed the IG police to withdraw all the FIRs he has registered against who went frenzy at Numaish and Malir 15. But he urged the ulema to stop their people not to block any road or artery of the city.

Talking about Mirza Yousif Hussain, the chief minister said that he would have to seek bail from the court of law.

Syed Murd Ali Shah once again clarified that operation against the terrorists, out laws and criminals would continue.
