LAHORE: Former Punjab governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that those who want to cover and protect corruption are creating hindrances in the investigation of Panama leaks case in the Supreme Court.

While addressing party workers here on Tuesday, he said that the apex court enjoys the full constitutional powers for constituting a commission and it had already constituted a commission in the past. “People wants the eradication of corruption and full fledge legal war against corruption and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is fighting the case of the people in this regard adding that corruption has made the country bankrupt and economy stagnant”, he added and maintained that the PTI is the only political party of Pakistan, who is fighting war against corruption.

He said that some people were trying to make Panama leaks investigation controversial in the apex court, but they would not be succeeded in their nefarious designs. There is approximately Rs 12 billion daily corruption in Pakistan but no state institution including National Accountability Bureau is willing to take notice against persons allegedly involve in these malpractices.
