Espionage charges: Five Indian diplomats leave Pakistan today
ISLAMABAD: Five diplomats at Indian High Commission, who were declared persona non grata will leave Pakistan today (Thursday).
Sources said the three Indian diplomats will leave Pakistan via Wagah Border while two will return their home country via Dubai.
Balbir Singh (posted as first secretary, press and culture) and Jayabalan Senthil (assistant, personnel welfare office) are present at Islamabad airport to take flight EK-615 for Dubai, sources said.
Amerdeep Singh Bhatti (Attache Visa), Rajesh Kumar Agnihotri (Commercial Counsellor RAW’s station chief) and Dharmendra Sodhi are expected to leave via Wagah Border.
Last week, the Foreign Office confirmed eight staffers of Indian High Commission in Islamabad as operatives of Indian intelligence agencies and said the same were found involved in coordinating terrorist activities including handling of factions of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The activities of these operatives of RAW and IB include espionage, subversion and supporting of terrorist activities in Balochistan and Sindh especially Karachi, the Foreign Office spokesman said at a media briefing here.
