Nawaz trying to preserve his 'Badshaahat': Bilawal

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Friday that PM Nawaz Sharif had appointed a new Sindh governor without even paying a courtesy call to CM Sindh or Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, in a bid to preserve his kingdom.

Bilawal made this statement via a tweet, hours after the new Sindh Governor Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui was sworn in on Friday.

The decision to appoint Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui and replace Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan as the governor of Sindh was taken during a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday. PPP's Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information, Maula Bux Chandio, had also stated that the party had not been taken into confidence regarding the appointment of the new governor of Sindh.

Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, who left the country on Thursday night for Dubai, also complained of the federal government's abrupt decision. According to some media reports, the former Sindh governor claimed that he was not apprised about the appointment of the new governor of Sindh. Media reports claimed that Ebad supported Bilawal Bhutto's tweet denouncing the decision taken by the federal government.
