KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Sindh governor’s removalwas without prior intimation.

“The Sharif family wants to establish his own monarchy,” he said.

The PPP chairman took to twitter and said that the new provincial governor was appointed without taking the former provincial governor – Ishratu lEbad– and provincial Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah into confidence. The federal government did not even bother to inform the above mentioned persons, he added.

Ebad– confirming Bilawal’s statement – said that he was not taken into confidence and criticised the federal government as he said received the information through newspapers and other media.

It is pertinent to mention here that the appointment of Justice (r) Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui as the new Sindh governor was decided in a meeting between President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif two days earlier. Siddiqui was sworn in as the 31st Sindh governor and the Sindh High Court’s chief justice took the oath from him.
