Head of Shah Noorani shrine suicide bomber found: IG FC Balochistan

LASBELLA: IG FC Balochistan claimed on Sunday that the head of the suicide bomber who had struck at Shah Noorani shrine and killed scores of people, had been found.

IG FC Balochistan Major General Sher Afgan was paying a visit to the Shah shrine one day after the ghastly attack had taken place, which had claimed the lives of 52 people and injured many others.

Major General Sher Afgan claimed that the number of casualties and injured were high since a large number of people had been present at the time when the attack took place.

"The suicide bomber had 9MM bullets and ball bearings in his vest which caused greater damage," he added.

He claimed that without proper investigation and probe, nothing more could be said about the perpetrators of the attack. Commissioner Kalat Hashim Ghalzai said the incident is being investigated and any lapse in security or dereliction of duty will not be tolerated.

The blast had taken place at a remote Sufi shrine in Balochistan, officials said, with the Islamic State group (Daesh) claiming the attack. The blast hit worshippers participating in a ceremony at the shrine of the Sufi saint Shah Noorani, some 750 kilometers (460 miles) south of Quetta.
