Chinese language teachers likely to join TEVTA

LAHORE: China will send its master trainers in Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Institutes, who would teach Chinese language classes to general public in major cities across Punjab and business sector’s executives at Lahore.

In this regard, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) here at TEVTA secretariat. According to the details of MoU, TEVTA Chairperson Qaiser said that with the establishment of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Chinese language is mandatory for all our youth and business community as well.

In first phase, Master Trainers are being invited for limited time period and after that services of Chinese experts will be extended. This initiative will promote technical education and vocational training especially in economic sector across the province of the Punjab.

TEVTA media consultant said that as per vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, we are giving latest vocational training to provide best manpower in different sectors across the province of the Punjab. TEVTA will training 12000 people in this language courses across the province of the Punjab.

In first phase, this course was started in Lahore and now it has been launched in major cities. Purpose to start this language program in other cities is to make the already trained skilled labor force of Pakistan more acceptable in the Chinese market. He was confident that Pakistan can attract Chinese manufacturing sector by developing a trained workforce for industries all over the world.

TEVTA Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and PCJCCI Vice President Salahud Din signed the MoU. TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Wang Ziha, TEVTA Media Consultant Kiran Butt, TEVTA Officers Aamer Aziz, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Uzma Nadia, Umber Chattha and other officers were also present at this occasion.
