Cable operators end strike after talks with PBA

KARACHI: The Cable Operators Association on Tuesday ended its strike after negotiations with the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBA). They had suspended cable TV services against the proposed auction of the DTH (Direct to Home) satellite services, which was to take place on Wednesday.

The announcement to end the strike was made by Khalid Arayin, the Chairman of Cable Operators Association, who said the strike was called off after “successful negotiations with the PBA.

He said State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb has assured them of resolving their issues.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court has issued a stay order against auction of the DTH, directing the authorities concerned to stop the auction since it had already reserved a verdict in the case.
