‘PTI is the real opposition in Pakistan’

Sarwar says all claims of his party are in line with country’s law, constitution

By: OnlineLAHORE: Former Punjab governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Tuesday that his party is the real opposition in the country and it would not bargain on principles.

“We talk of democracy, constitution, rule of law and rights of people. Rulers will have to implement all promises made to the people of Pakistan,” he said.

The former governor said that all the credit of the ‘war on terror’ goes to General Raheel Shareef and Pakistan’s armed forces and its soldiers – who sacrificed their lives.

Sarwar said that the PTI has always raised its voice on issues being faced by the general public and ‘all claims of the party are in line with the law and constitution’.

“If PTI talks about free and fair accountability, rule of law and supremacy of the constitution, then what is wrong with it?” the PTI leader questioned – in a thin-veiled reference to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government’s motives.
