Won't allow innocent civilians to be targeted: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presided over a meeting with the country's civil and military leadership to discuss the escalating tensions with India across the Line of Control.

According to details, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, National Security Advisor Nasser Janjua and DG ISI General Rizwan Akhtar attended the meeting, which was held a day after India violated the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan and martyred 12 Pakistanis, which also included three soldiers.

PM Nawaz said during the meeting that Kashmir was an unfinished agenda of Pakistan and the Islamic Republic would not stop pursuing the rights of Kashmiris in IoK. Nawaz also said that Pakistan had so far exercised patience and restraint in the face of Indian atrocities but would not permit deadly attacks on innocent civilians.

"We will not tolerate the deliberate attack on innocent civilians," he said during the meeting.

The meeting called for the international community to take notice of the murder of innocent civilians. It was maintained that India is trying to divert international attention from human rights violation in the occupied valley by employing such tactics. Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, National Security Advisor Nasser Janjua and DG ISI General Rizwan Akhtar briefed PM Nawaz regarding the situation across the Line of Control.

Pakistan blamed India for martyring 12 of its citizens, which also included three army officers by targeting a passenger bus and an ambulance at Neelum Valley, across the Line of Control. ISPR stated that Pakistani forces responded in a befitting manner to Indian aggression.
