Karachi Operation will continue with full throttle: DG Rangers
By: APP
KARACHI: Sindh Rangers DG Major General Bilal Akbar announced a three-pronged approach to tackling terrorism in Karachi.
He was speaking to a ceremony on Saturday where he confirmed that the Karachi Operation against terrorism would continue.
He said that the operation would continue against target killers, extortionists, facilitators and financiers of terrorism, adding that with help of provincial and federal governments, three major steps would be taken.
“The first would be establishment of a skill development centre to facilitate thousands of students, who would learn vocational skills that would help them make a living,” he said. “Children who have been victims to terrorism will be preferred for admission at the centre.”
The second step would be initiation of a ‘victim support programme’, he said.
“We will extend our support to victims of terrorism after we collect data of different terrorism-related incidents,” he added.
He said that a support group for the victims would be formed, adding that third step would to rehabilitate petty criminals. “Over 30 children have already joined the Rangers Rehabilitation Centre so far,” he concluded.
