Gen. Raheel pays farewell visits to PM, President
ISLAMABAD: Incumbent Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif paid farewell visits to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain, a day before he formally retires and hands over the army's command to Gen. Qamar Bajwa.
According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hosted the outgoing army chief at the PM House in Islamabad. Reportedly, PM Nawaz thanked Gen. Raheel Sharif for his services for Pakistan as army chief and wished him all the best for the future.
General Raheel Sharif also paid a farewell visit to President Mamnoon Hussain. The President thanked Gen. Raheel Sharif for his invaluable services and praised his professionalism.
Gen. Raheel Sharif then visited the headquarters of ISI where he met Lieutenant-General DG ISI Rizwan Akhtar. Gen. Raheel Sharif praised the efforts and professional capabilities of ISI.
Gen. Raheel Sharif will formally hand over the command of Pakistan Army on November 29, 2016 to his successor Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa.
