By: APP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High commissioner to India Abdul Basit, in an interview with BBC Urdu via Facebook Live, pointed out Pakistan’s readiness to exchange peaceful dialogue with India should be viewed as "Pakistan's strength, not weakness."

In rebuttal to Indian External Minister's claim that ‘dialogue and terrorism cannot go side by side’, the High Commissioner responded that Pakistan could also put up similar font with respect to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and India’s refusal to withdraw of troops from Siachen.

He was adamant that dialogue was the first step in the journey towards calling truce and ensuring much needed pace in the region.

When inquired about the issue of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and Maulana Azhar, the High Commissioner replied that the cases would be resolved in courts and Pakistan would readily take action when confronted with sufficient proof.
