* No threat of coup

Daily Time Monitor

LAHORE: PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said that eight years of hard work were lost when former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf was given the guard of honour, adding that Musharraf distributed money among the PML-Q, according to a private TV channel on Saturday.

In a programme, the PML-N chief said the army should not interfere in the government’s affairs, adding that he does not see the army taking over the government. He said a lot of issues needed to be discussed with the army in this regard. He said he is playing the role of a responsible opposition, adding that a lack of trust develops when the opposition is weak.

Nawaz was of the opinion that the amalgamation of all Muslim Leagues was being carried out under a “devilish intent”. He said the government had gradually lost all the available options, adding that it should have a grip on its affairs. He said that the government was left with no option other than improving itself. He said President Asif Ali Zardari should seek forgiveness from both God and the nation, the channel added.
