Railways earns Rs 18m in drive against ticketless travelling
KARACHI: Pakistan Railways’ Karachi Division earned over Rs 18 million in the last three months during their campaign against ticketless travelling, a statement said on Sunday.
The campaign was launched on the directives of Divisional Superintendent Aftab Ahmed Memon, and according to Divisional Commercial Officer Kamran Saeed, the highest earning of Rs 7.4 million was made in September when 15,777 ticketless passengers were nabbed.
Saeed said 15,040 passengers were caught travelling without a ticket in July, and 12,241 in August, while over Rs 6 million and Rs 5 million were recovered in the respective months. app
